RVAA Membership Approves Change to Affiliate Member Category

Through a vote by the membership, the Recreational Vehicle Aftermarket Association (RVAA) has changed its Affiliate member category to a new category called Service member.

This change will allow Service members to participate in RVAA meetings, to participate on the Board, to have the same voting privileges as other RVAA members and to expand the membership base with companies that will bring value to Distributor, Supplier and Manufacturer Agent members.

While the RVAA Board of Directors voted for this change in March, a vote of the full membership was required for it to take effect. The RVAA membership was sent a request to vote via e-mail the week of May 9.

85 percent of the voting members approved of this change, said Piar Adams, RVAA President.

“We are excited with the outcome of the vote, and are confident this new membership classification will enhance the Association and bring tangible value to current members,” said Adams.

Service members will now have two new seats on RVAA’s Board of Directors, which are in addition to the current ones including: four Distributor seats, four Supplier seats, and two Agent seats. RVAA’s Board also consists of an Executive Committee, which includes president, vice president, past president and treasurer positions.

Elections for the two Service members will be held during the RVAA Annual Conference taking place August 30 – September 2 at the Hyatt Regency Resort and Spa in Huntington Beach, California.
