Welcome from the President - The Times, They Are a Changin’

What an appropriate statement for the business climate we all find ourselves in. We have seen changes in customers, customer behavior and buying patterns, and certainly major changes throughout the entire RV Industry. We have also seen some changes within RVAA. Change can be difficult, for sure, but it can produce positive results for those that embrace it. The very newsletter you are reading is new, and represtns change. The purpose of this monthly publication is to keep you apprised of the “goings on” within RVAA. You’ll see various messages from me, or other Executive Committee members, along with Committee updates and other relevant information in a short, quick-read format.

In this first edition I want to give you brief “state of the association”. Overall, RVAA is doing well, especially through the management company transition. As a reminder, Etshied Association Management, Inc. resigned at the end of April, and we hired Landon Farrey and Associates, a full service management company fully capable of managing RVAA’s day-to-day business.

Your committees remain busy, meeting once a month via conference call. The membership Committee is busy recruiting new members and ensuring member benefits are valuable and tangible to each member. Since the beginning of the year RVAA has added nine new members:

The Marketing Committee has been busy working on the new RVAA e-newsletter, as well as other more regular communications to the membership, more emphasis on accepted “best practices”, and the development of more “best practices" for the benefit of our members.

Lastly, your Conference Committee has been working on the details of this year’s Executive Conference. Save the dates! The 2011 Executive Conference is August 29 - September 2 at the Hyatt Huntington Beach Resort. You will be seeing registration materials shortly.
